Dr. Michele Alston is a dual board certified Physician in Pain Management and Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R), and an 11 year veteran of the US Army. Dr. Alston leverages advanced treatment tools and techniques in diagnosing and treating acute and chronic pain conditions originating from the spine, joints, and nerves. In addition to interventional procedures, she emphasizes holistic treatment plans that identify the root causes and reduce pain to maximize function. Dr. Alston also performs electrodiagnostic studies to diagnose nerve symptoms and weakness.
Dr. Alston graduated from PM&R Residency at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, MD, and from Pain Medicine Fellowship at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, TX. After fellowship, Dr. Alston served as the Chief of Physical Medicine at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center in Germany, the largest overseas US Military hospital. She served her eleventh and final year in the Army at Brooke Army Medical Center.
While a native of Maryland, Dr. Alston fell in love with San Antonio’s warm weather and people. In her free time, Dr. Alston is involved with her church and also enjoys an active lifestyle including sports, hiking, and skiing with her spouse and five children.
