Ma Luo, MD, is a board-certified pain management physician and fellowship-trained anesthesiologist at SA Pain Clinic in the San Antonio/Boerne area.
Dr. Luo was raised in San Antonio, he completed his doctorate in medicine at the University of Texas Medical Branch. Following medical school, he pursued his residency training in anesthesiology at Baylor College of Medicine. He relocated to Portland to pursue his pain fellowship education at Oregon Health & Science University prior to coming back to San Antonio.
Dr. Luo was drawn to the field of medicine because it allowed him to make an impact on people’s lives in unique ways. With a broad understanding of pain management and physiology, Dr. Luo is able to create comprehensive, evidence-based plans that effectively improve pain and dysfunction.
Outside of patient care, Dr. Luo enjoys spending his time volunteering abroad and giving back to others. He also loves to spend time with his three children and wife, Dr. Josephine Villarreal-Luo.
